FAQ

How do your fangs differ from other Generic fang caps?

As the word Generic states, these fang caps are made in the "Fits all sizes". They are made generic, generic in size and generic in colour. Usually you need some kind of adhesive to keep these fangs in place. This is not the case with my fangs. Each fang is custom made for your teeth, and your teeth only. The caps are colour matched to the shade of your teeth, and made to your specifications. 9 out of 10 people that wear these "custom fangs" do not need any adhesive to wear them.

What are they made of?

My fangs are made of the highest quality dental acrylic; the same material used in the manufacture of temporary crowns, retainers, and full or partial dentures. this material is very strong enough to stand up to day to day wear, yet soft enough not to cause damaging wear to your natural teeth .

How do you make them?

Well several steps are involved:

  1. Well firstly I take the cast that I have received from you (Yes I dont make casts anymore), and make an impression out of the cast (Sort of a backup if your cast breaks, then I still have one to work on)

  1. I Use Alginate (made from Sea algae) to create an impression of your cast. I use a cosmetic Alginate as it takes longer to set, and gives me more time to mix it

  1. Using clay or dental modeling wax, I sculpt the desired fangs on the appropriate teeth, looking at length and detail of the adjoining teeth

  1. I make a second impression of the cast(This time with the sculpted fangs) in cosmetic alginate

  1. Remove the sculpted fangs from the cast

  1. I fill the negative alginate impression with high quality dental acrylic (I use a product called Elite Enamel Temp plus, its an amazing Acrylic material and very strong . Then I push the cast back into the impression

  1. I remove the cast from the alginate impression. Then I de-flash the fang caps, and I shave them to the correct size.

  1. I polish the fang caps with Pumice powder

  1. I use a denture sealant called Palaseal , which is an acrylic glaze and sealant

Why dont you make Casts

Well the short version is that making a cast of someone's mouth is a crappy job! The long version is this. In the whole process its the step thats takes the longest (roughly about an hour for all materials involved to dry). With a dentist, you sit town, he takes an impression, you leave, he calls you when the cast is done. I am trying to keep the prices as low as possible and currently only charge for materials used. If I have to add casts to the bill, most fangs will cost R150 more. I am not a dentist, I am not proficient in making you feel comfortable while making the impression, its an experience that most people do not enjoy, and if there is a “screw up” in this process, it filters through to the final product. So rather get a professional to do it.

Do you use a bridge to connect the caps to each other?

No. These caps are single caps, and fit well enough without a bridge connecting them (Think dental plate). The single caps look more natural, and you sound natural (There might be a slight lisping, but with continuous wearing this will also subside)

Do you sometimes make fang caps out of porcelain?

No. I only use dental acrylic. Porcelain is very expensive, to buy and to prepare. It is also a lot tougher and as humans are not meant to have fangs, they might damage your other teeth

Can I eat with my fangs in?

No. As humans are not carnivores, our jaws and eating habits are very different from creatures that do have fangs, we chew with a cross action. The motion of your jaw might break your fangs or dislodge them

What happens when I swallow a fang cap?

Well if that happens, one of two things will happen. You will pass them or, it will get lodged somewhere on its way down, and you will need medical attention...SO DONT SWALLOW THEM!

Why cant I sleep with my Fangs in?

Well the chances are almost 100% that you will grind your teeth ( a natural reaction). This will either dislodge the fangs, or break them and they they will most definitely be dislodged. And instead of going down south, these pieces of fangs might get inhaled (and then you are back in the emergency room, after just the previous day trying to explain why their was a piece of fang in your colon)

Can I bite people with them?

NO!!!!!!! Why would you want and go and do a thing like that? The fang caps might not look as sharp as to break skin, but with enough force you can do a lot of damage. I cannot stress it enough, DO NOT BITE ANYTHING OR ANYONE!!! Do not try to break the skin!! It is considered an offence (assault) if you try! Do not even try to nibble on people without their permission. And in this day and age, believe me, you do not want to go and bite someone (ever heard of VD?) .

Can you also make permanent fangs?

Nope. I am not a dentist, nor am I a dental technician.

How do I care for my fangs?

1) When you are not wearing your fangs, please keep them in the container that I supply with the fangs. Not only will it protect the fangs but it will help you to remember which cap is left and which one is right.

2) When you take out your fangs (Before you eat or go to sleep of course), rinse them in clean water, then with a soft toothbrush, brush them softly and gently with tooth paste (normal toothpaste, not the whitening kind), rinse them off again and then let them dry. As soon as they are completely dry, put them in their container.

3) If you are not going to wear your fang caps for a long time, follow the previous instructions when you take them out, and then when you are done, put them in a water filled container (with a lid), and put them away.

4) Some people require denture adhesive to secure their fangs. you will be told at the time of fitting whether or not you may need to.If you do, I recommend Poly grip. A tiny dab on the inside of the REAR of the fang will suffice. If adhesive is put on the inside of the FRONT, it will show through the body of the tooth resulting in “pink fang”. You MUST clean the adhesive off of the fangs every night after use to reduce bacterial buildup .

5) If you find that your fangs are a little lighter than the rest of your teeth, you may darken them slightly by soaking them in coffee. however, they should be soaked for only five minutes at a time to ensure that over staining does not result.

6) Just as coffee and tee help with the staining of your teeth, so will certain other liquids also stain your teeth, and some may even stain them pink. And red coloured soda, or spirit (wine), will stain your teeth pink. Before drinking, check the colour of the drink, anything red, blue or green will most likely stain.

7) You may brush your fangs, but use normal toothpaste, not whitening or toothpastes with granules(like certain new fangled brands out there )in them .

8) Do not wear your fangs for longer than 12 hours at a time, it's not good for your jaw.

Can I get them in any other style?

Like I said, you are only limited by your imagination ( and remember limit your imagination to FANG CAPS). If you have seen it in a movie, or online, or thought it up, I'll make it . I will need a picture to work from though.

How long does it take to get them?

Well it depends basically on the style of fangs you want (How many teeth to cap?) For a traditional set, it can take andthing from 40 minutes to an hour. The more teeth to cap, the longer it takes

Whats the different sizes of fangs?

Well there are 3 sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Small are usually the fangs that are not too obvious, and well hidden. Suitable for everyday wear (to the office and so on) , most women prefer small fangs.

Medium fangs are a little tougher to hide, you can get away with it without drawing too much attention, but most people will notice, best suited for men.

Large fangs are impossible to hide, people will notice, and you will move to the front of any line a lot quicker.

I try to consult with most people on what length and style will look the best on them. Large to one, may be medium to another, and also remember the physical layout of your mouth, if you have a small mouth, large fangs will just not work.

What do I do if my fangs do not want to stay in?

Unfortunately some people have a problem with keeping fangs in place (the structure of their teeth etc.). If you do have a problem, just apply a dental adhesive to the inside of the back of your fang, this should do the trick.

Are you a vampire?

Do you think if I was a vampire, I would have a normal 8-4 job? C' mon!! No I am not a vampire, nor have a I ever met a real vampire in person

Can you turn me into a vampire?

What?? And loose your business? No I cannot, read the previous answer.

Are you single?

Depends. If you are any one of the girls from www.suicidegirls.com? Then yes I am single! If not, no I am happily married (Please don't tell my wife about this, I do not want to lie next to you in the emergency room while the are removing the fangs from both of us)
